Restorative yoga practice for people living with cancer
From January 2016, I will be offering tuition to help people living with the challenges of cancer, having completed some recent training.
Yoga has a wonderful potential for aiding the healing process, for helping bring about beneficial change on the body, mind, emotions and spirit. The demands of the mixed ability classes may however, not be suitable during life- changing illness.
During private sessions together, we may explore how the yogic practices of gentle body movement, breathing exercises, deep relaxation and simple (though not easy!) meditative techniques may help contribute towards healing.
Honouring the way yoga was traditionally taught
Yoga was originally passed down directly from master teachers who worked one-to-one to tailor the practice to each individual student based on their health, physicality, mindset and lifestyle.
In this way, individual yoga tuition honours the traditional methods of teaching yoga and ensures a safe practice for you to enjoy a full exploration of yogic practices to your heart's desire.
This may involve exploration of postures and movement (asana), breathing practices (pranayama), meditative practices or relaxation techniques to help realign, recharge, balance and invigorate your body, mind and spirit accordingly.
Beginners - wishing to set a strong foundation for their practice.
More experienced yogis or yoginis - wishing to enhance and deepen their practice.
Anyone who wishes to experience the many benefits and joys of yoga through attentive, compassionate and intensive teaching where the time is focused entirely upon you and the nature of your specific requirements.
Fees for individual yoga lessons are £35 per hour.
For five yoga sessions prepaid it is £150 and the sessions may then be spread over a six month period.
