What should I expect from a yoga class?

I teach predominately hatha yoga though it is rather an eclectic mix as I incorporate elements from different yoga traditions to enhance people's experience on the mat. The classes include both flowing movement sequences and postures that we may explore working in for a slightly longer period of time. We tend to explore some standing postures or movements, some sitting, some lying on your back, on your front or on hands and knees etc. Each class is accompanied by peaceful music to help relax the mind and soothe the soul.

I weave a meditative element and mindfulness skills throughout the physical exploration to help people access a greater sense of inner peace and presence.

All classes are mixed ability yoga classes for health, vitality and wellbeing.

They aim to help you find greater flexibility, strength, balance, ease of movement, calm, peace and inner stillness. Everything to help you release and unwind in mind and body.

Release your stress and restore your inner peace. An oasis of tranquillity for busy lives.

The class structure

We work with an overriding theme for each block of six classes and we then explore a different aspect of the theme each week.

Each class starts with grounding, theme setting and breath work before we begin our asana or physical practice. We then have a further short breathing section or guided meditation before finishing with some blissful relaxation.

Each class explores the theme throughout its various elements to help provide a quality and well rounded experience that leaves you feeling blissed out, calm and content. Indeed, at the end of the class you may almost float out of the door with a freer, stronger body, quietened mind and open, uplifted heart.

My emphasis is very much on offering the holistic benefits of yoga which interweaves the benefits for the body, mind and spirit together. Please note that though each class is mainly physical, it is not a yoga 'fitness workout'. For more information on my yoga style and approach to teaching yoga, then please see here.

If you would like to 'pay as you go' it is *£9.50 per class (*though you are welcome to pay per class I do politely request that you contact me to check that there's space available as priority is given to people paying by block and some classes are often fully booked).

If you are unable to attend a class that you have pre- paid for, you may attend an alternative class in that same week's class timetable (providing space is available) so that you don't miss out on your weekly yoga treat.
